I was trying to look up a couple of links people have posted here recently for a new thread I'm writing, and have lost both.
The first is Ryan's comment about a study showing people were poor at valuing large numbers (something about killing 100 birds provoking the same reaction as killing 1,000,000).
I can't remember who posted the second, but it was within the last week or so. It was to an MSN conversation recorded on one of the blogs we often get linked to - between someone who seemed to be a mathematician and someone who was possibly Eliezer Yudkowsky, who eventually won $100 for the SIAI by asking the mathematician repeatedly to identify prime numbers until he tripped up.
Can anyone remember these?
