I just got this from the GWWC Facebook-group. Posting it here in case anyone reading the forum isn't member of the group:
"Giving What We Can is launching on Saturday
Hello all,
I'm very happy to be able to say that Giving What We Can will be officially launching this Saturday (the 14th of November). At that point the website will go live and so will the forum for our members. If you want to join, or just want to find out a bit more about the pledge and the society, then please send me an email ( toby.ord@givingwhatwecan.org ). I'll send you some information we have prepared and a membership form in case you decide to join. Now is a particularly good time to join as having more members at the time of launching will help us attract more media attention.
I should also note, that we've clarified what the pledge requires of students or the unemployed: since we define 'income' as wages or salary, they typically have very little or no income, so giving 10% of this turns out to be very easy. However, so that all of our members are at least giving something at all times, we ask that they donate at least 1% of their annual expenditure if this is larger than 10% of their income (and of course the 10% commitment will still come into force in the future).
With warm regards,
Toby."
