I just reminded myself in this thread of a plan I've had for a while to buy two or three copies of Singer's Practical Ethics to hand out to people who seem like they might be interested/persuadeable on topics in it.
It turns out there's a new edition out, which means we now have three to choose from, costing £2.80 for 1e, £4.86 for 2e, or £17.27 for 3e.
Was wondering if anyone had any info on the value of getting later editions (/advising other utilitarians to do the same if they're thinking along similar lines)? I think the version I read about 5 years ago was 2e, which I don't remember seeming dated. That said, maybe people will be less motivated to read something that's been superseded?
