A one-off documentary about physician-assisted suicide by Terry Pratchett, a fantasy writer of Discworld fame. It portrays the process of dying with the Swiss organisation dignitas from the perspective of individuals with terminal neurological conditions and includes the first-person perspective of Pratchett, who has dementia and supports the legalisation of physician-assisted suicide.

Re: Terry Pratchett: Choosing to Die
Saw it (live in UK so twas on the BBC). Cried.
Seems to be part of a larger political engagement in getting euthanasia, of the type documented, legalized in Britain. Some agitated stuff in the papers about it, and a lot of people I knew were suddenly interested in euthanasia. I reckon there might be serious political pushes to get it legalized in the near future. Sidenote: Does anyone know if Swiss law allows for euthanasia after you are past being able to consent if you've put it in a living will or something and your next of kin agrees? 'Cause that seems like an obvious thing to do.
Will be sad to see Pratchett go, I've loved his books.

World domination is such an ugly phrase. I prefer to call it world optimization
