Utilitarianism conference in NY this August, anyone going?

Anyone going to this? http://www.ucl.ac.uk/Bentham-Project/ISUS_XII_CFP

The confirmed speakers look a bit uninspiring but maybe the submitted papers will be interesting. Here's the abstracts from the last one held in Italy: http://www.isus.ec.unipi.it/abstracts.html

It would be great if one of us was there to network and build more linkages between Felicifia and the academic community....

NB ISUS supports the utilitarian journal Utilitas, most recent edition open access here: http://journals.cambridge.org/action/di ... al?jid=UTI

Well, Joshua Greene is always fun. I would guess that Tim Mulgan's talk on environment and utilitarianism is pro-conservation, but who knows.

Walter-Sinnott Armstrong is also a superb speaker, as can be seen on thesciencenetwork.org. Joshua Greene is an incredible moral psychologist whose papers are always greatly enjoyable. Roger Crisp is highly respected. Tim Mulgan's Understanding Utilitarianism was a fair account. I can only imagine that the other speakers will also have something worthwhile to say!

Sounds exciting! I live nearby so I'll try my best to make it (unless it costs too much).
