Hello There!

Postby Rachel Atkins on 2012-07-13T19:09:00

Well, Peter (peterhurford) gave me the link to Felicifia, and I was pretty excited, so now, where I am. Like Peter, I am an undergraduate in school. I'm currently studying philosophy and French, with a minor in Spanish, and getting ready to apply to law schools... fun fun.

Looking forward to joining all of the great discussion going on here!

Welcome, Rachel! If you'd like to share, it might be interesting to hear your future career plans or favorite charities. No worries if you'd rather talk about other things, though.

Yeah, we have at least one thread in our entire history where we talked about something other than utilitarianism :P

I sometimes wonder if we should deliberately try to force ourselves to range further, if only to make the claim of being a community more convincing (or at least making it look more like a community to newcomers). Suspect it is not an efficient use of willpower, though ;)

Anyway, welcome along Rachel!

Utilitarian reasons to talk about things other than utilitarianism?!

It's true that branching out in this way causes more humanization, which can build stronger communities. :)
