If you could find out the date on which you'd die

Hi,
I remember a quote. The sentiment was: live so that if you find out you'll die tomorrow, you can say you'll keep doing the same thing.
As a utilitarian, sure, I'll try to keep maximising happiness, but how I'll go about that will change. I won't continue my study, for example. I'll pass some messages on to family and friends, etc.

That was just an opening though-provoker. I'm interested in your comments on that, but I'd also like to hear if you have any comments on the idea of if you could find out the day that you'd die. Would you accept such an offer? How would you behave differently if you found out such information? And if so, would you become obsessed with this idea and become unable to remove thoughts of death from your mind?

Fate isn't something I believe in, but nonetheless I'm interested to hear how you approach these questions.

If you did that, that would mean you wouldn't invest for retirement.

I suppose that if I found out I'd die tomorrow, I'd get a loan and donate the money to charity. Of course, outright fraud could give a bad name to utilitarianism. I very well might be able to get more by giving a dying wish to donate to a specific charity.

I don't see what fate has to do with this. If you have terminal brain cancer, you're pretty much going to die in a short time. More than a day, but still.
Consequentialism: The belief that doing the right thing makes the world a better place.
