Hello Utilitarians and Consequentialist-minded individuals who seek to make the world a better place rather than merely follow arbitrary deontological rules,
I am a Hedonic Act Utilitarian with some conflicting Prioritarian intuition. I am trying to resolve this inner conflict for theoretical clarity, but obviously Utilitarians and Prioritarians favor nearly all the same policy decisions, since resources have diminishing marginal utility, and therefore resources given to the least well-off create more total utility than if given to those more well-off.
I am writing this post to invite you all to check out my new philosophy blog, which focuses mainly on metaphysics and ethics, and utilitarianism comes up quite a bit. In many posts, I try to expose the "Rule Fetishism" of deontology, break down the illusory doing/allowing distinction, combat the status quo bias behind the permissibility of allowing harm, dissolve the "not by my hands" attitude, and generally show deontology to be "nonsense upon stilts," as our friend Bentham pointed out about Natural Rights.

I don't know if advertising one's own blog on another blog is bad blogger etiquette, and if so, I apologize for any negative utility caused. For those interested, by visiting my blog you will be rewarded with many hedons of utility like manna from heaven. I too will receive a few hedons, as I currently have almost no blog traffic.
A great many hedons to you all,
Nick Flamel
