Welcome - if you are an aspiring altruist, make sure to get in contact with 80000hours as early and as often as possible - they are excellent career counsellors!

Elijah, I second Ryan's advice to get in touch with 80k. Consider also contacting Carl Shulman privately. Carl did some pioneering research on ethical career choice and shares some of your interests (notably psychometrics; see e.g. his comments on Cochran & Harpending's The 10,000 Year Explosion and his review of Nisbett's Intelligence and How to Get It).
